Belton, Texas 鈥� On Wednesday, August 29, Don Piper, a Baptist minister and bestselling author of 90 Minutes in Heaven, was guest speaker during 91探花 chapel services.
Piper shared his testimony with the audience. In 1989, he was driving home from a church conference, when his car was struck head-on by an 18-wheeler. A team of four paramedics worked diligently to revive Piper.
鈥淚n spite of their best efforts, they were unsuccessful, and I was pronounced dead on the scene,鈥� Piper said. 鈥淲hich I think brings up a great question, what am I doing in Belton?鈥�
After the paramedics had laid a tarp over Piper鈥檚 lifeless body, a fellow motorist convinced authorities to let him pray over dead man. A ful hour and a half after the crash, the stranger, his hand on Piper鈥檚 right shoulder, began singing 鈥淲hat a Friend We Have in Jesus,鈥� when, to his great shock, Piper began to sing along.
